When God Calls You Into the Storm 🌊

I had a dream April 3, 2023. In it, I was being driven by a large sea. Then we turned and started to drive into the water on a path. I could see the path just under the water. On either side there were large waves crashing, but would not come onto the path. I was continuously being driven out farther onto this path into the sea. I looked back and the shore was getting farther and farther away. It started to scare me, I didnt know where I was being taken. I felt like I wanted to swim back to shore but could not. I just kept going forward.

I was recently reminded of this dream as I started to move forward with starting the Loved to the End business. This verse from Isaiah 43:16, 18-19, is exactly what the Lord has being speaking to my heart about this business!

"This is what the LORD says—he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters... Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." (Isaiah 43:16, 18-19)

God doesn't always call us to comfortable places. Sometimes He calls us to walk paths that seem impossible—paths that lead straight into the storm, into the unknown, into situations where we have no choice but to trust Him completely.

He does this on purpose.

Because when we're standing on a path in the middle of raging seas, we can't rely on our own strength. We can't lean on our own understanding. We can't control the outcome. All we can do is fix our eyes on the One who made a way through the Red Sea, the One who calms the storms, the One who is making a way even now.

God calls us into the uncomfortable so we learn to trust Him and not ourselves.

If you're standing at the edge of your own stormy sea today—if God is asking you to step out onto a path that makes no earthly sense—take heart. He who made a way through the mighty waters is making a way for you too.

Don't look back at the former things. He is doing a new thing. Do you perceive it?

Trust the Pathmaker. He's never lost a daughter to the waves.

When Fear Tries to Steal Your Faith 💭

There's a moment in every God-sized calling where fear whispers louder than faith. It happened to me in that dream—watching the shore disappear behind me, feeling the weight of the unknown ahead, wanting desperately to turn back to what was familiar and safe.

But here's what I've learned: the fear you feel when God calls you forward isn't a sign you're going the wrong way. It's often confirmation you're going exactly where He wants you.

Fear says, "What if you fail?"

Faith says, "What if He's already made the way?"

Fear says, "You can't see what's ahead."

Faith says, "But you can see who's leading."

Fear says, "Turn back to safety."

Faith says, "There's no safety apart from His will."

The enemy wants you to believe that fear is a stop sign. But God wants you to understand that fear is simply the space between where you are and where He's taking you—and that space is meant to be filled with trust.

Peter knew this when he stepped out of the boat. The disciples knew this when they followed Jesus into the storm. Moses knew this when he lifted his staff over the Red Sea.

They were all afraid. But they moved forward anyway.

Because faith isn't the absence of fear—it's the decision to obey despite it.

So if you're feeling afraid today, don't let that stop you. Let it remind you that you're in exactly the kind of situation where God does His best work. Let it drive you to your knees. Let it push you deeper into His Word. Let it make you desperate for His presence.

And then? Take the next step anyway.

The path is already there. You just have to choose to walk it.

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you." (Isaiah 43:2)

He's with you. Even in the fear. Especially in the fear.

Walk forward, beloved. The waves can't touch you when you're walking in His will. 🌊
