Molly’s Jacket — A Vision From Ezekiel, Painted Into a Story

Some art is beautiful because it is skillful. Other art is beautiful because it carries a story.

This jacket carries both.

When I think about Molly, I think about color, joy, and energy. I have known Molly for a long time. Molly was in my Girl Scout troop, and Molly always brought a bright spark everywhere Molly went.

Molly was the kind of kid who showed up with rainbows on her shoes, rainbows in her hair, and color woven into everything. That joyful, fearless personality is part of what makes this jacket feel so special.

Where the design began

This jacket was inspired by Molly’s own creativity.

Molly created a picture in art class based on the description of an angel in the book of Ezekiel.

If you have ever read Ezekiel’s vision, you know it is not a simple, ordinary image. It is mysterious and powerful.

There are wheels within wheels, and the vision is filled with eyes and wings.

Molly took that description and turned it into art.

Then I took Molly’s design and painted it onto the back of the jacket, honoring what Molly created and bringing it to life in a wearable way.

• A coordinating design using the theme of the eyes and wings, tying the whole jacket together

Molly’s mother, Kim, bought this jacket for Molly for a Christmas gift in 2025.

That makes it more than custom art.

Why I love painting identity jackets

I love taking a story, a Scripture, or a God-given idea and turning it into something you can wear.

Because sometimes we need reminders that stay close.

Sometimes we need beauty that points us back to truth.

And sometimes we need a jacket that tells a story of who God is making us to be.
